A Taste of Nostalgia, Baked with Love ????

The smell of homemade biscuits baking in the oven is pure comfort. As soon as you take a bite, you’ll experience a delightful blend of tradition and taste. Whether you’re making these for a weekend brunch or a holiday gathering, they’ll quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (I prefer Wheat Montana Premium All-Purpose for the best texture.)
  • ¼ cup sugar (or a no-calorie sweetener)
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, frozen (freezing makes it easier to grate into the dough)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing on top)
  • 1¼ cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep
To begin, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
After that, generously butter a baking sheet to prevent sticking.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
First, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until everything is well incorporated.

3. Add the Butter
Now, use a grater to shred the frozen butter directly into the flour mixture.
Then, gently toss until the butter is evenly distributed.

4. Combine Wet Ingredients
Meanwhile, in another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs until smooth.
After that, slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry mix, stirring gently with a fork until a soft dough forms.

5. Shape the Biscuits
Once the dough is ready, turn it onto a lightly floured surface.
Carefully knead until it comes together and is no longer sticky.
Next, pat the dough to about 2 inches thick.
Then, use a biscuit cutter (or a glass rim) to cut out biscuits.
For a finishing touch, lightly dust the tops with flour.

6. Bake & Enjoy
Now, place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
Before baking, brush the tops with melted butter for a golden finish.
Then, bake for 14 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Finally, remove them from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
