Discovering the Enchantment of MAZYOON

In February, Swiss Arabian sent me a bottle of their MAZYOON concentrated perfume oil as part of their creators challenge. Since recieving this scent, I’ve immersed myself in the world of this intriguing fragrance. Throughout the past month, I have been exploring its nuances through various layering techniques and solitary wear. Today, I’m excited to share my experience with you and introduce you to the enchanting world of MAZYOON.

The Perfumer’s Creation

The perfumer carefully measured out a few precious drops of oud oil, letting the dark, resinous liquid fall into the glass beaker. Then, he reached for a basket of fresh citrus fruits – lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruit. Selecting a plump orange, he used a sharp knife to carefully pare away curls of the peel. Instantly, bright, zesty notes permeated the air.

Next, he added a generous spoonful of white sugar crystals. This note lends a sweet, gourmand dimension. Finally, he incorporated tears of translucent mastic gum, meticulously harvested from the prized mastic trees of the Mediterranean. The mastic would provide a unique, slightly piney flavor and serve as a fixative to make the perfume linger on the skin.

With deft movements, the perfumer swirled and combined the ingredients, skillfully crafting MAZYOON. It was a pioneering moment for Middle Eastern gourmand fragrances, as it boldly incorporated the enchanting essence of mastika. The result was at once opulent and invigorating. The sultry depth of oud is lightened with sunny citrus and grounded in the distinctive essence of mastic and sugar.

As he worked, the perfumer reflected on how MAZYOON embodied elements of his own personality. Though an introvert, he found that this blend succinctly expressed the unspoken through its unique aroma. He smiled, imagining the concentrated perfume oil adorning someone’s wrist, a secret pleasure and a small sensory enchantment to carry them through their day.

My Experience with MAZYOON

I particularly enjoyed pairing MAZYOON with Swiss Arabian’s Shagaf Oud, noting how the two fragrances complemented each other beautifully. The only minor drawback I encountered was the occasional issue with the dabber coming out of the cap. This required a bit of fishing to retrieve it from the bottle. However, considering the exceptional value MAZYOON offers at its price point, this was a small inconvenience easily overlooked.

I wholeheartedly recommend MAZYOON to anyone looking to explore the world of concentrated perfume oils, whether for layering or wearing alone. It’s an especially appealing choice for those drawn to uncommon ingredients like mastika. I found that MAZYOON’s scent showcased impressive longevity. Even after several hours of wear, its alluring aroma remained detectable to others within about 3 feet (almost 1 meter).

While not overpowering or heavy, MAZYOON proved to be a delightful and intriguing companion throughout my days, enveloping me in its subtle yet captivating aroma.
