First Sniff: Willin’ by Cade Black
First Sniff: Willin’ by Cade Black

Lately, I’ve found myself increasingly interested in the world of natural perfumery. There’s something truly special about perfumes crafted with botanical ingredients. I do believe this particular genre of the fragrance world is having a moment at this time, at least for me.
This afternoon, I had the pleasure of sampling Willin’, the latest release from Cade Black. And let me tell you, from this initial encounter, I am once again utterly impressed.
My First Sniff Impressions
Willin’ immediately presents itself as a beautifully composed, smooth fragrance. As the scent unfolds, I’m sensing the warmth of amber most prominently. It’s deep and rich – a resinous presence that provides a velvety foundation.
The musk exists here floating atmospherically around the amber. It’s an ethereal quality that enhances the depth. And tying it all together, like a finely crafted, smooth, supple cord, is the leather. This isn’t a harsh or aggressive leather; it’s elegant and blended perfectly with the willing partners.
My initial thought is that this fragrance feels destined for cozy evenings and the crisp air of cooler temps. Its depth and sophistication lend themselves perfectly to that setting. However, I have a strong suspicion that this fragrance is far more versatile than it first appears. For anyone with a bold personality who isn’t shy, I believe Willin’ could very easily become a signature scent, worn with confidence in almost any season.
A Brand Worth Discovering
If you haven’t checked out the House of Cade Black, you simply must. Named best new luxury brand for 2024 by the International Perfume Foundation in Paris, their unique approach to botanical fragrance and body care has me super excited about the possibilities of natural perfumery.
